Floral Therapy
A hands-on class blending mental health education with the art of floral design.
Floral Therapy is a collaboration between Houston School of Flowers and Kate Black, LCSW, created for anyone looking for a creative, grounded way to explore self-care. Over the course of the session, you'll learn real therapeutic concepts - like the cognitive triangle and behavioral activation - while building your own floral arrangement, guided by a professional instructor.
This is a class where mental health concepts come to life through the meaning and mindfulness of working with flowers - choosing blooms with intention, working with your hands, and creating something to take home.
What to expect:
A guided grounding exercise using sound, scent, touch, and sight
An introduction to core psychological concepts
Hands-on instruction in classic round floral design - mechanics, structure, and technique
The symbolism behind each flower and color you're working with
Group reflection and connection with fellow participants
A take-home arrangement
A tour of a local flower wholesaler & a 3-month pass to shop flowers and supplies
