Everyone starts somewhere. Here, that starting point is met with guidance, patience, and a focus on building real understanding, so what begins as curiosity and hope turns into something you can feel confident in.

The Houston School of Flowers is a floral design school offering flower workshops for floral skill development. Students may attend individual workshops or enroll in multiple at a time. In addition to our courses, we also host floral events and create custom arrangements.

The founder of the Houston School of Flowers is Certified Floral Designer, Pat Hermes. She directed the school for 38 years, instructed floral design for Rice University, and was published in the Houston Chronicle in 12 featured articles.

Our director and teacher, Caroline Doré, began her journey with floral design when she attended Pat’s floral arrangement class. She fell in love with designing flowers and competed the school’s courses before gaining her Certified Floral Designer’s certification. She built her floral foundation working with florists in Texas and Alabama, where she created arrangements for weddings, special events, and funerals.

The Houston School of Flowers provides a welcoming setting in which to learn, create, and gain floral industry experience.
