Floral Arrangement Class

This class instructs the principles and elements of classic, contemporary and European floral design. This hands-on floral arranging class will include vase arrangements, flowers for entertaining including sit down dinners and buffets, tropical designs and a segment on the European garden style of floral design. The tuition for the floral arrangement class is $435. All flowers, containers and supplies are included in the tuition and students will take their floral arrangements home at the end of each class. A certificate from Houston School of Flowers will be awarded to each student upon completion of this class.

Wedding Design Class

This class instructs the principles and elements of floral design for constructing bouquets for the bride and her attendants, flowers for the hair, wrist corsages, shoulder corsages, and boutonnieres. There will be instructions for designing flower halos and pompander balls for flower girls and bow making techniques. Ceremony and reception decorating including aisle markers, candelabras, arches and the mechanics and techniques for designing fresh flowers for the bridal cake will also be instructed. The tuition for the wedding design class is $435. All flowers and supplies are included in the tuition and students may take their bridal bouquets, hairpieces, corsages and boutonnieres home at the end of each class. A certificate from Houston School of Flowers will be awarded to each student upon completion of this class.

Sympathy Design Class

This class instructs the principles and elements of floral design for constructing standing and flat sprays, casket sprays, sympathy baskets, wreath making techniques and designer tributes. The tuition for the sympathy design class is $435. All flowers and supplies are included in the tuition. A certificate from Houston School of Flowers will be awarded to each student upon completion of this class.

Shop Management Class

This class instructs the processing and care of cut flowers and foliage, care of blooming and green plants, buying, pricing and mark-up formulas, floral marketing, new business promotion, wire service membership and servicing of wire orders. There will be segments devoted to window and sales area displaying, floral refrigeration requirements and the basic flower shop start up inventory will be included. The process of opening a new flower shop including assumed name, sales tax and agriculture license information will also be discussed. The tuition for the shop management class is $435. A certificate from Houston School of Flowers will be awarded to each student upon completion of this class.
